Murray Minute

I am still trying to catch up on our multi-state vacation...

November 10 - We flew as a family from Utah to Washington state with Papa, Nana and Grandma Gigi.  It was wonderful to have so much help on the plane!!

November 11 - We played around Papa and Nana's fun house and tried to help Nana plan and get ready for Dave and Erin's wedding open house.

November 12 - It was quite rainy, so we decided to have a family adventure at the mall.  The kids had a great time on the kiddie rides and throwing their new bouncy balls all over that poor mall with their Dad.
It was nice to get out and run free (although the mall employees probably thought otherwise).  We went back home, packed up our stuff once again and headed to Lebanon, Oregon to visit with Peter's wonderful grandparents.  It was REALLY rainy which delayed our drive (it took 5 hours), but we eventually made it and we were so happy to see Grandpa and Grandma Murray... some of the greatest people you will ever meet!

November 13 - We spent the entire day with Grandpa and Grandma.  The weather was beautiful and we all had a great time exploring around their huge yard.  Claire found a fairy house and was determined that there were 50 fairies living in there.  She knocked and knocked and finally decided that they all must be grocery shopping.  (Grandpa is an amazing wood-worker and built this!):
Dallin discovered Grandpa's huge wood shop and realized that Grandpa made quite a bit of furniture in their home.  Whenever he sees something nice made of wood he wonders if Grandpa made it.  This picture shows Grandpa Murray's thumb that he sliced while making something and Dallin simply wanting to be like him...
Next to the wood shop, the kids discovered Grandpa's Model A Ford...
While the bigger kids were exploring, Grandma was loving Spencer...

That afternoon, we played Apples to Apples (Dallin's all-time favorite game), had pizza, shot Grandpa's BB gun and visited.  We also walked across the street and down a gorgeous path...
to a huge river that runs near their home.
We threw pine cones and leaves in the water and waved to all the birds flying by...
Dallin sure was happy...
Claire had a blast...
and even Spencer thoroughly enjoyed himself...
What a wonderful day with such wonderful grandparents!  We didn't want to say goodbye (Claire clung onto Grandpa),

but we needed to get back to Washington.  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Murray for letting us come for a whirlwind trip that was actually very peaceful and enjoyable.  We sure do love you!
