Fall Fun

What a weekend! General Conference, having daddy home, cooking in the kitchen, playing, etc. The weather was fall-perfect. To end a great Sunday, we went over to the Jaeger's home for dinner, dessert and pumpkin-picking. There were so many yummy soups to try, rolls, appetizers served in hollowed-out pumpkins, and super-delicious desserts to top it all off.
We were all in our long sleeves (should have brought our jackets)... it finally felt like fall. I guess soup, pumpkins, friends and chilly weather can make one feel that way. The highlight was trekking down the Jaeger's backyard to their real pumpkin patch.
Each child was given a sticker with their name on it so that they could claim a pumpkin and then cut it from the vine.
Dallin found a beautiful orange one that just happened to have a ladybug on it (bonus!). Claire couldn't decide on a pumpkin and we eventually figured out that her indecisiveness was a result of her wanting to find a pumpkin with a ladybug on it too.
Sweet Pete scoured the patch for ladybugs, brought his collection over to a pumpkin, put the ladybugs on top and then called for Claire. She was thrilled.
Such a nice daddy... such a particular little girl :). I picked Spencer's pumpkin... just like I picked his outfit, his Halloween costume, and what he ate for dinner :).
Not a bad life to just sit back and let nice things happen to you! Dallin had a great time making new friends, playing Foosball, tackle football, and devouring the Zuppa Toscana soup I made for him. Claire lovingly took care of her ladybug (from her pumpkin), swung on a hammock with the Scott girls, "froze", and enjoyed her dessert. Spencer played and played with his daddy, trudged by himself through the dirt, loved each pumpkin, and refused to sit still. Peter enjoyed his time with friends and the kids while I pretended that I could actually eat all of the food (had my wisdom teeth pulled on Friday).

We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! To make the fall festivities even better, each family in attendance was sent home with a HUGE pumpkin!! We have quite the pumpkin collection on our front porch now...
What a perfect way to kick off this fall/holiday season... there is a magic in the air that gets us giddy.

Happy Fall!

I, too, feel that there is "magic in the air that makes me giddy" as I look at these darling pictures. The sharing of your thoughts and photos makes it a special way to "kick off" my fall/holiday season as well. I feel motivated to go buy a pumpkin for our front porch.(It would obviously have to come with a lady bug.)

oh Missi, I totally saw your spider web and almost started crying. I so wish I was still there sometimes, taking the kids to school, hanging out with great friends...sigh.
I hope the teeth thing went okay! See you soon...like Sunday for picture delivery! :)
